Salaam Kids

Our Purpose

Salaam Kids aims to bring local kids together from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Our community is vastly diverse, hence every ethnicity eventually forms its own groups. Our community has families that have been here for generations and others that have just settled here this year.

We believe that families that are well settled here can provide tremendous support for people who are new to the area. Some families in our community send their kids to Islamic schools or prefer homeschooling. As a consequence, these kids are usually isolated and we at Salaam kids are trying to bridge the gap.

What we do

We organize an event once a month so families & kids can meet each other to form bonds and socialize. We believe that kids develop their understanding of relationships early in their childhood. They need to be comfortable to accept and understand the children from all backgrounds and races.

Who we serve

The program focuses on refugees, first-generation immigrants, and the people who are underserved in our community. We also encourage families that are well settled here to come and meet the community. The age group for Salaam Kids is from 3 to 16 including kids that attend Al Ihsan school and the kids that are homeschooled.

Funding

Bulk buying as a strategy helps us pass part of the discount to the community while making some profit. In return, that profit is utilized to pay for the community members that are underserved.
